1. The months of carrying a child are precious and soon past. You are engaged in the creation of a

new life, not merely with your body, but with your emotions, mind and spirit. Yoga postures, breathing exercises and relaxation techniques can help the mind and body adapt to pregnancy, prepare for labour and adjust to life with the new baby.

2. Yoga can help you have the best possible pregnancy and delivery in many ways.

3. Gives relaxation, centeredness and emotional balance. Yoga can empower you and give you a

sense of your inner strength (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual) which is invaluable

during pregnancy and after the baby arrives.

4. May help common pregnancy complaints, such as lower back pain, varicose veins, leg cramps,

sciatica, swelling, upper back and shoulder tightness, sleeplessness, fatigue, stress and anxiety.

5. Improves body awareness and posture.

6. Breath awareness and breathing exercises can improve effective use of breath and relaxation

during labour.

7. Strengthening and stretching of pelvic muscles can ease child birth and post partum recovery.

8. Connect with your baby while it is still in the womb. Yoga practice may also stimulate the

unborn baby’s sense of touch and body awareness.

9. Nurture your self and your child in a positive, uplifting environment. Meet and share with other

mothers and mothers-to-be.

MEET THE TEACHERS

The prenatal classes are taught by certified and expert yoga teachers and staff of SYCG and mentored by the Director, Arun Pandala.

TESTIMONIALS

"I was active throughout my pregnancy with yoga and walks. I was so glad that I could practice yoga till my last days. My weight gain was regulated with diet and exercise.
On my birthing day, the breathing exercises and the cow and cat pose came very handy. I was waking during my labor. My doctor had to do a last minute c-sec as the baby was not engaged, and she felt it could pose a risk for the baby and the mother, she was surprised the way I took my labor. Post the operation my recovery was very fast and despite a c-sec I could breastfeed my child within 2 hrs of operation and took walk in the room the next day. I owe this to yoga as it gives you mental strength in addition to the physical benefits. I am seriously amazed at how the body can be healed completely even if things don't go as you plan at times."
